The US Federal Courthouse is a 220,000SF new construction federal government building in Downtown San Antonio. This 3-level building consists of magistrate courtrooms, judicial suites, law attorney offices, open office spaces, and maximum-security prisoner detention areas. The 3 levels wrap around a centralized atrium showcasing the high-end finishes and architectural lighting. The building’s four rooftop penthouses house mechanical equipment for the buildings air conditioning system. The facility is backed up by an emergency stand-by 750KW Natural Gas fueled generator housed inside the Central Utility Plant. Big State Electric furnished and installed approximately 43,000SF of low profile Gridd flooring in open office spaces for demountable furniture flexibility. Big State Electric provided complete BIM services, Class A fire alarm system, smoke evacuation system, security, access control, and telecommunications systems for the project.
